| Doctor gave me 3 samples, after experiencing the neck pain I found with Imitrex or Zomig, I only took 1/2 with my migraine. I found no neck pain or stiff neck after 1/2 hour so I took the rest of it. The headache was gone and then returned later on. I am trying to find complete relief after more than 6 months of daily migraine. At the price of the medication after my insurance kicked in, I get 9 pills for $48. I am wondering how long before the daily migraines will stop? Are there other meds to help? I am taking 1 per day for 5 days now and headache still coming each day, although today, Sunday, August 10, did not wake with headache and didn't come until around 1:00 pm. It does take away the headache but I am not sure it is a permanent solution for me. | |||

| I get migraines as well and my doctor as prescribed a small doseage of blood thinners (atenolol) and it has seemed to reduced both the frequency and severity of my migraines. Also, have you tried eliminating Caffeine from you diet? That also helped me with my migraines. I hope these work for you cause I know what you are going through | ||

| can you tell me what is your insurance company that pays for Amerge? You seem to have the best deal ($48 for 9 pill) Thanks | ||

| Wow, I thought that they were pricy! I pay only $3.36 for two pills (so for 9 pills it would cost me only $15.12). I feel a little better now about the price. My insurance company pays for 90% (and I pay the 10%). I am in Canada, so that might be the difference. | ||

| Debbie, give Frova a try. It lasts much longer than Amerge. | ||

| I have daily migraines from TMJ problems and perimenipausal hormone fluctuations. After trying several medicines, I have the ones that work for me. I take 125 mg. of Zoloft to prevent most of my migraines. I also take 1/2 of a 2.5 mg. Amerge tablet at night to prevent the TMJ headache I wake up with. And, I am starting Feldene in the hopes of preventing the TMJ headache, so I can stop taking the Amerge on a regular basis. I still get mild migraines during my period, but the Amerge gets rid of them within an hour. The Zoloft has made me calmer and is slowly ridding me of anxiety. The Amerge is a wonderful migraine medicine. It does not cause a rebound headache like Imitrex. It works with little side effects except fatigue--just sleep off your migraine. I cannot take Imitrex or Frova with Zoloft--it causes more migraines. And the other migraine medications were not effective. Life if not perfect, however, as Zoloft has its side effects, such as dry mouth and teeth grinding (which intensifies the TMJ), but the good outweighs the bad, and I feel good most of the time. | ||

| I have been using Zomig for 3 years. This summer the frequency of my migraines increased as well as having a stiff neck. I only am taking 1/2 of a 2.5 Zomig. I do drink 4 cups of coffee a day. Any thoughts? | ||
