I am a lupus patient and I was put on Bextra for arthritis symptoms that didn't get better with Vioxx or any other medication. At first I was singing the praises of this miraculous medicine...my hands and feet, which had a lot of joint pain, were suddenly painfree and I felt normal again! Then, a few days ago (after being on the bextra for three weeks) I began feeling itchiness. At first a little on a leg, then later on both legs, and then everywhere. Now came flu-like symptoms - congestion, sneezing, dizziness, headache. Finally, I couldn't sleep all night long - my legs felt restless and I had chills (no fever) in my whole body. This morning there was blood in my stool and the chills continued throughout the day...have stopped taking Bextra!
