Never again!!! After taking two doses of 400 mg avelox I experienced chest pain stomach pain neck pain and convulsions like I thought I was on a paint mixing machine. Also dizziness and upset stomach. I think I'll just put up with the sinus infection.

I am so glad I found this website. I was starting to think that I was dying(literally).

I will NEVER let a Doctor give me this horrible medicine again. I have had the chest tightening, awful headachles, agitation, nausea, extreme fatigue, muscle aches, panic attacks.

I have two days left of this junk...and I am NOT going to finish it. I am calling my Dr. for a different prescription.

I taken this horrible medicine for almost a month because of chronic sinusitis. This "medicine" has made me feel way more sick than the sinus infection.

I am really angry that my Dr. prescribed this. I also am mad at myself because I am usually an informed patient due to doing research on my own. Come to think of it, I asked my pharmacist if there was any side effects...and he told me NO! I am switching pharmacies.

I have taken Avelox several times for chronic cellulitis. I know the deal with the vomiting so I take it with food. That helps but it eats up my stomach raw, it hurts and burns. I also have some yellowing of the skin and teeth but know there are not many other antibiotics out there. I have problems with loss of concentration that are maniacal, it takes everything to focus.I have a constant ringing in my ears. I feel more tired and run down and have trouble sleeping. I am waiting to be off this. Why can't better antibiotics be developed with all the money the pharmaceuticals get?

I was given this antibiotic for bronchitis/tonsillitis about 2 months ago. I took one pill and had such a horrible reaction, I threw the rest of them in the garbage and got re-prescribed Ketek. My symptoms included the chest tightness, which brings on automatic panic, dizziness, etc. This should be taken off the market entirely. After years of taking steriods for bronchial infections, with no reaction whatsoever, I cannot believe the severity of the reaction with this drug. DO NOT TAKE IT!
