| Hi, my mother's Dr put her on this too, and she is type 1 diabetic also . Last night , when I did a net search and found it is not to be given to type 1 , I called her Dr and argued with him about taking her off it, and he finally agreed . His excuse for having her on it : he thought she had components of type 11 diabetes !!! She has been gaining a lot of water weight , at a pound a day, and has had a triple bypass and has heart disease .Many Dr's prescribe meds. with no caution at all, at the risk to the patient !!! Ask a lot to questions ,and search the net ,then confront the Dr ! Good Luck , Les . |
