| Been on 40 mg. Benicar for 1 month. Have had one attack of severe bronchitis and now, 3weeks later, it's back but this time I've been diagnosed with acute, chronic asthma attack. Have horrible deep cough, wheezing, heaviness in chest. Could this be from Benicar? Anyone else have wheezing, coughing, bronchitis, or asthma-like symptoms? BP is only mildly lowered since being switched from Diovan. | |||

| Yes, I am having the same side effects. I have been on Benicar for about three months. Developed a dry night cough, nasal congestion and chest tightness. Doctor says not related, I say different. | ||

| I started Benicar one month ago and have a bad case of bronchitis. The doctor thought it wasn't the medication causing this cough and gave me a steroid shot. Didn't help! Continued using Benicar for one more week and the bronchitis worsened. Will see the doctor next week to change medication. | ||

| I've been on Benicar, 20 mg., for 3 yrs. I also have MS. My symptoms seemed to have worsened. I never put two and two together and thought about the Benicar, but my symptoms are like yours. My hands are numb, I itch sometimes under my arms and my skin is dry. I have dry mouth. I have had a horrible sinus problem, cough, bronchitis for almost 3 yrs. I've seen a pulmonologist; I've had sinus surgery (no help; just worse). After reading your post and others like it I'm wondering if the Benicar is the culprit, not the MS. I also have urgency of urination. Hmmmm.... | ||

| I have been having the same problems. Like a very dry cough, that I was thinking was related to allergies; but I'm begining too think its the Benicar hct 40mg/12.5mg causing me this problem. I also break out in a hives rash in the night time. When I do not take the medication the cough goes away and the hives rash don't come out not as much. But as soon as I return taking the medication the cough and rash comes back. I also have a runny nose and congestion behind all of this. Plus I am a asthmatic. I really believe this medication is the problem. I'm going too my doctor this week to discuss these problems. | ||
