What a blessing to find this site!! Have been taking Bextra for 13 days. Noticed redness under arms and on thighs and pelvic area. Very red with skin cracking in fold at thigh-pelvic area. Stopped medication. Called MD; he advised stop med and indicated that it was probably adverse sulfa reaction. I have never been allergic or reactive to sulfa or antibiotics. Searched the 'net' to find info on Bextra....very alarming. The pharmacist nor the MD explained any of these possible reactions. Also, experienced nausea, heart palpatations and extreme fatigue on one occasion; thought it was an intense 'hot flash'. Now, I believe Bextra is the cause. Since I have only recently shown signs of rash can anyone tell us how long it takes to subside? After stopping the med does that eliminate any further concern for developing serious skin disorders? Already have psoriasis with arthritis....don't need another skin disorder. Any help would be appreciated - thanks.
