| Have been taking 20mg of this med since mid August this year and have not had any side effects. BP has reduced nicely. Reason for this Rx was that other BP drugs in the ACE inhibitor and Beta blocker class can aggrevate Asthma. Note on Potassium intake, Dr did warn not to take any supplements and watch eating foods high in it(Bananas), excess Potassium can affect your heart rhythm. If you're on a diuretic and taking Potassium supplements better check with Dr. when taking with this drug. | |||

| Beggin you to read Dec 3 2005. And if you want to live do not take this drug. My husband just passed away, yes over weight, and no health problem except for high blood preasure. He too had just seen the Dr. two days prior. he was taking 20 MG Benicar and told the Dr. that if he did a little work, went in the heat, or walked for a short time, his pressure would drop to half. He was sweeping a floor, no big deal, and he dropped dead, The Dr. was well aware of this, my husband took his preasure every time he felt a problem, he was very much on top of this. This drug is NOT worth giving your life up for. Please Please Please insist that you switch to something else if you have any symptoms that others list. My husband did not have any medical problems. God Bless everyone who has lost somone from this drug, and I often wonder how many on this forum have passed? | ||
