| Took Pepcid, Aciphex, Prevacid for over 3 months still have nausea with attacks of extreme nausea and tightness into throat. Heart OK, endoscopy, colonoscopy, CAT scans, ultrasound all negative. Treadmill didn't bother stomach. Attacks of extreme nausea bring fatigue, sometimes lightheaded and last twenty minutes to 2 hours. Onset is unpredictable. Absolutely miserable. Pcp, Cardio.and Gastro. M.D.'s haven't helped. So what now? In desperation have been researching everything I can find. Merck manuals, publications and internet. Pancreatitis? Found words idiopathic, histrionic, psychogenic all to do with gastro problems when they can't find anything and don't know what to do. I suppose that will be next. Will see doc again soon. If nothing, does any one know any good primative medicine? I'm not giving up. | |||

| After months of suffering trying different RX's and testing was finally given Cat-scan which showed mass in appendix area. When surgeon did exploritory he found a ruptured mucocell in my appendix the size of a sausage. Had to vacuum out and wash down all my organs. Surgeon did a great job and didn't remove any of my colon. Took me awhile to get back in shape but feel great. That was 18 months ago and recently had another Cat-scan that was OK. | ||

| Primary care and Gastroenterologist looked at me like I was exagerating also. I did same as you and found the histrionic etc. bit in Merck manual. Don't back down to them. If my wife hadn't pushed them to get me in sooner for results after each test I don't know what could have happened. I believe her persistance could have saved me because I was really sick. Was sitting up many nights because of pain and symptoms. The best to you. Hope you post your results. | ||

| I went through the same thing as you. Took several different RX acid blockers, all kinds of tests and I even found histrionic and idiopathic in the Merck manual. I was desperate. After I was finally given a cat-scan a mass was revealed in my lower right quadrant. After exploratory surgery it turned out to be a mucocele in my appendix. It had burst. Took a long while to get back to feeling good but now am as good as ever. | ||

| You mentioned that you had an endoscopy. So I assume that you were checked for h-pylori. If you weren't ask to be tested through your blood. If positive, with number at least 1.9 you should be treated with the triple antibiotic thereapy for helicobacter. Another thing to investigate is "anxiety". Are you under any stress. It's not mentioned very often, but sometimes anxiety manifest itself through stomach problems. In this case a low-dose anti-anxiety medication should do the trick. | ||
