My daughter takes 2.5 mg of Abilify. Her mood has improved, her outbursts have decreased and she is finally interested in school again. I am very happy with the results, but remain concerned over the long term affects. She too eats alot but she is very active, dances and plays volleyball. Which brings up a question, do I need to be concerned with her taking this and playing sports? She also takes Paxil and Topamax. She is 11, will turn 12 in October.

My daughter is nine and plays soccer. I have the same question, especially in light of the overheating warning.

Would you let me know if you hear anything?

I also play volleyball, but I also do too take a number of other antidepressants and such, but no, it usually does not effect playing, sometimes though I do experience a lot of tiredness. I am 15, almost 16. The only antidepressant I came in contact with that made me very tired and sick was Lexapro, a number of girls my age also taking it said they experienced the same symptoms. I've taken Paxil as well as your daughter and it never caused me tiredness like the others, but if she says she's tired, believe her, it can change from day to day. My sister took it and she would be very very tired and basically incoherent. I was very into volleyball (highschool, club volleyball) and I would be tired a lot but I think her staying active will help a lot in her emotions and habits. If I can be of any more help just reply. :)
