I just started (8-24-03, have taken 2 tablets) with Bextra. No warnings were given by the pharmacy. I learned about possible problems from the enclosed documentation.

I went to the doctor and told him of my condition: He asked the questions about where the pain was. I said it traveled in several areas over my body and not all at the same place, very painful, and after just getting my own information on the internet (which a friend informed me of her condition and it was the same as mine) concerning Fibromyalgia. The doctor gave me no information as to what he thought it might be, except a inflamation of the muscle tissues....Then prescribed this sample drug of Bextra. Never asked me about my Asthma or how my stomach was. Since taking this drug for pretty close to 2 weeks, I have many of the side effects that was listed here.
Why aren't we informed on the consquences of taking something we know little about??? I am very upset, and plan to contact the doctor as soon as possible.
Thank You!

I just got 4 sample boxes with three 20 mg pills for severe shoulder pain running down into elbow. Dr. said take 1 a day. I thought 1 box so took 3 pills. Looked on web and discovered 10 mg per day for non menstual pain. It's been 2 hours since swallowing the pills. No side effects, and absolutley no relief. It's going to be a painful weekend. Prior to seeing Dr, I took 800 ibuprofen 4 times a day and got no relief. I would cut my arm off to stop this pain.

Was recently diagnosed with potential carpal tunnel syndrome. Prescribed 20mg bextra once a day. NO RELIEF! I'm wondering why I'm still taking it if i've had no change in pain for over a week!
