| After my second dose of Avelox I began feeling very weak and then went into convulsions. This landed me in the hospital for 3 days. It has been three weeks since then and I still am battling with side effects! I would NOT recommend that anyone take a chance with this medications side effects!! |

My pharmacist always provides me with a print out of all the background, side effects, etc regarding any medications I take. The one I got regarding Avelox states clearly that if you have a history of convulsions see your doctor before taking this medication. Doctors SHOULD realize this when they prescribe it but as pharmacists are the medications experts you should talk with them about what the doctor prescribes you because as you found out the side effects can be super serious.
If you don't take the time to look out for yourself you may have unforseen problems like you had. THOUGH in all fairness you may not have been aware of your tendancy towards convulsions/seizures (they aren't synonyms). I'd have that checked out by your doctor too if you haven't already investigated that avenue. |
