| I am a 24 year old female. I went on Celexa about a year ago because I was going through some major changes in my life and felt very anxious, irritable, angry, etc. Now, I am lethargic, lazy, sleep all the time, and have no use for sex. My boyfriend and I are fighting more than ever, and I am starting to realize that it is because I am not interested in him because of the drugs!! I need to take myself off of them....slowly! I am currently taking 30 mg....can I just drop to 20 mg for a week, then 10 mg for another, then zero? | |||

| You have to go off Celexa extremely slowly. I dropped my dosage from 30 to 20 for one month, then to 10 for 1 week, then stopped, and that was too fast. My doc said that since 10mg was "subtherapeutic" that I could just stop. But be careful - sometimes we patients who have been through the withdrawal know more than the doctors about going off the meds. That low a dosage may not have been helping my depression, but going off it cold turkey like I did made me experience severe vertigo for a week now with no abatement yet. I wish I'd stayed at 10mg for at least 3 weeks, then 5mg even, for a while, this dizziness is so severe. Just one person's experience. | ||
