I have only been taking 35 mg. tablets Actonel for 4 weeks. I noticed a bit of nausea after the second week and now after 4 doses I'm having more nausea as well as gas and digestive distress. I intend to stop it for 2 or 3 weeks to see if there is any improvement. Does anyone else experience these symptoms?

I have been taking Actonel for around a year now. I did not notice any significant side effects until just about a month ago. Now I am experiencing reflux at night when I am sleeping. My doctor wants me to go off the drug for a couple of months to see if the relux improves. Has anyone else developed reflux as a side effect of Actonel?

Hello, reflux is listed as a side-effect (more prominent than others) note that is why it is said to "stand up" for at least 30 minutes and by stand up...they mean "don't be bending over, either." "This" may turn out to be the "most" long-term effect...as it is the manufacturer's highest concern...note how it is "put out there in front of everything else in all of the literature." Makes one wonder if we should be taking anything that does not "go down well" by itself...can't think of "ever" having that instruction-with-meds, ever-before. Perhaps, we are not being "wary" enough in regard to "new drugs." C.

I have just been told to stop Actonel. I have had flu like symptoms, nausea and a rash on my face. I feel horrible and my blood pressure has gone up. I will NEVER take it again. I would like to know how long this lasts after the final dose? Thank you. Elizabeth
