| I am gaining weight because of Avandamet even though I am in an exercise program . It is getting very hard to get in and out of my car. I didn't know that this med was the cause but I have now gained 30 pounds even though I am monitoring my weight and food intake. I understand that they have stopped making Avandamet but now my dr is putting me on avandia and metformin separately. I thought about paying for two separate prescriptions and that's costly also. what is the answer? what am I to do? I trust my dr but now I don't know I am type 2 and am concerned about the eventual results. This page concerns me but this is good information. We are at the beck and call of the drug companies!!!
