These people who are having side effects need to talk with their doctors. Hopefuly they have honest ,concerned, well read psychiatrists only prescribing these very powerful drugs such as Abilify. Their side effects are serious and need to be dealt with by only the best prepared. Only Psychiatrists who keep up with their reading and conferences are worth even spending their money or time on. Other Dr.s do not have the time to keep up on psychiatric drugs. If a psychiatrist does not know medicine well he needs to refer his patients to a very good Internal Medicine Dr. to assist him. If he does not make the referral go on your own! It's your life! You need to stand up for yourself no matter what it takes or how difficult it is. Find people or agencies that will assist you. They are there to help you. That is their job.

I was wondering if anyone taking Abilify has had odd posturing of hand/arm. My son takes 15 mg daily and also takes Trileptal and Lamictal for seizures. 7 months ago, when we were weaning the Trileptal seizure med he had a seizure where he pulled his arm up near his chest and his hand clinched....almost looks like he had a stroke. He can transfer out of that position easily so the neuro doesn't think its a big deal. Neuro thinks its a movement disorder assc with the Abilify. Pych thinks its something to do with the seizures and possible weaning of the Trileptal.
Anyone had this happen to them while taking Abilify?
