| My 80 year old Mother was prescribed Avandia two years ago and within 6 months her legs and feet had swollen to three times their normal size. She was on a diuretic but it did NO good. She also gained between 30 and 50 pounds while on this drug. She had become very depressed over her weight gain and none of her shoes fit. I finally took her to a geriatric specialist ahd he IMMEDIATELY took her off Avandia. With his help she now feels like a different person and her legs are back to almost normal. It has been hard for her to lose the weight but she is trying. I hope this experience helps someone else. |
