| My Dr. put me on Benicar for HBP about 6 wks. ago. I first started with 20 mg., but was dizzy & had severe headache for over 1 wk. She lowered my dosage to 5 mg. (1 wk.) then increase back to the 20 mg. Thought I would be okay, but started to noticed chest tightness & light pressure. Also, I started to have severe upper G.I. pain (heartburn). I stopped a dosage, symptoms went away. Started up again & symptons appeared again. I am almost sure it is the Benicar! It was lowering my BP, but I will try the "natural" way because the side effects are not worth it. I was disappointed the med. did not work. | |||

| There are many (100's)of bp medicines. If you need one don't give up so fast. | ||

| Thanks for your comment. I have been worried about chest tightness that has suddenly appeared (along with a fast pulse and strong beating heart) for the last two days. I've been on Benicar for one week, but after reading your comment, I'm going to stop.I asked my dr. to put me back on my old BP medicine, but he refused. I guess we really Don't know how we feel, huh? If the dr. had to have these side effects, he'd surely put the medicine down. | ||
