I took Avelox for a week and had severe back pain..went to the emergency room twice. Had C-Scan and exrays and nothing showed up. The pain was on my left side. I could not lay down or sit up without being in horrible pain...percicet did not even touch the pain. I ended up having a colonoscopy and they found nothing. When I picked up this prescription at Walgreens the pharmasist told me that I would feel that all kinds of thing are wrong with me but it would only be the medicine. I guess so....It took 2 months for the pain to go away, and cost me $1200.00. I would not recommend this antibiotic to anyone.......

I am currently taking a 30 day course of Avelox for a Chronic Sinus Infection and after my first 6 days I am aching all over and feel horrible. They warn of Tendon damage but i do not know whether this pain is a result of tendon damage, any other side effect of drug or just the bad infection working itself out of my body. So hard to get into the Doctor's office and hate to go in if not necessary??????

While I was taking Avelox and Levaquin for bacterial Sinusitis my period came late and the blood was thick and dried out. I think it was caused by the dehydration that the post nasal drip (mucus) causes. Also, I'm taking another medicine called Entex LA (also called Amitex LA and Crantex LA) which is a decongestant and guaifenesin. The guaifenesin forces you to drink voluminous amounts of water and when you swallow the phlegm it makes you nauseated as well as bloated. My throat hurts from the swallowing of phlegm. If the bacteria would just die then the post nasal drip would stop (as the bacteria causes inflammation of the sinuses. Does anyone know of an antibiotic that is guaranteed to kill bacterial Sinusitis quickly-like in just 3 days or less? I took the Levaquin for 10 days and it didn't work. I'm presently into the 3rd day (of 8 pills-1 pill a day) of Avelox and still have Sinusitis.
