| I need to share something here. Abilify gave me my mind. I have been on it for less than six months, and unlike Zyprexa, it has treated my symptoms without making it so I couldn't form a coherent thought or sentence. I can think, focus, speak and do anything else I need to do with my mind. And I am free of psychotic symptoms for the first time in 3 years. I just cannot say enough. If nothing else has worked, try this. I lost the weight I gained on Zyprexa. I can think. I am almost the person I was before. | |||

| Are you on any other prescriptions? My daughter who is now 17 has been on 15 mg. of Abilify for almost a year and she is also on Lexapro for severe depression. She is not hearing voices or having hallucinations, but her grades are horrible. She has trouble concentrating, and seems to be out of touch with reality at times. She has lost interest in doing things she used to love. Cannot stay awake in class. You don't seem to be having thinking problems. | ||

| I had the complete opposite results as anonymous above: Zyprexa is a miracle drug that clear my head and makes me well, but Abilify turned me into a lethargic sluggish slug. I could not stay awake. I guess differences in brain chemistry produce different responses. That is why you should be too alarmed at one post or too excited about another -- you won't know what a drug will do for you unless you try the drug. | ||

| I was diagnosed with bipolar after suffering a concussion this past March. So far I have been prescribed Geodon, Lamictal and Seroquel. One at a time, ofcourse, but all to no avail. Now my psychiatrist has prescribel Abilify. I am having some rough side effects but have been on this medication for 2 weeks and want to give it a chance. I have heard great things about Abilify. Your story gives me hope. I am still on leave from work and my moods are like a rollercoaster ride. Can you offer any advice for me? I look forward to your reply. | ||

| How much weight did you gain on Zyprexa? I am 80 pounds overweight and was on Zyprexa for about 5 years. 6 weeks ago my Dr switched me to Abilify. How long did your system take to adjust? I am still having nausea and anxiety. Did you have these side effects? | ||
