To the perspn taking resperdal and the doctor wants you to try abilify. I would tell you that it is definitely worth the try. I was on reperdal for years and gained alot of weight. And all of a sudden about 3 1/2 months ago my prolactin level just shot up and I was lactating like crazy which was extremely painful. I've been on abilify since then and have felt much better. I'm not sedated anymore, I see changes in my weight and I'm very alert. The only warnings I have for you are that I get frequent headaches and I do not well at all at night.

I to had the same problems with risperdal, my prolactin level rose to the level of a pregnant womans prolactin level. I also had the breast milk problems along with the weight gain of 80 more pounds. I think this medication should be banned from use due to all the major side effects that it causes. including hair loss (thinning)

Thanks for sharing. I am on Abilify after suffering a concussion back in March. The injury triggered a bipolar episode. I too have trouble sleeping since I began taking abilify 2 weeks ago. My psychiatrist prescribed Ambien for sleep and this is helping. Hope you continue to improve.

I would tell your Dr about the headaches and mack sure they are related to the abilify or if it is another problem.
