| I was on 5mg Benicar for about 6 weeks. Felt very listless and had constant backache in kidney area. Primary care Dr sent me to see a Nephrologist and tests disclosed my potassium level was up to 6.4. Was told to immediately stop Benicar. It has been 2 weeks without med and potassium level is back to normal and backaches have disappeared. | |||

| My husband also had elevated levels of potassium, creatinine and BUN. I suggested it might be the Benicar HCT, Dr. did not think so. I am glad to learn that he is not alone. He is Diabetic (mild) on oral med and I am concerned about kidney function. We will keep close watch on levels. Thanks for your input. | ||
