| I was prescribed aciphex about 1 1/2 months ago for acid reflux, I take 150 mg every day. Finaaly, it now seems to work well. There is an over the counter brand that is the generic of it called Ranitidine, but it only comes in 75 mg. Does anyone else take this high of dosage? | |||

| Ranitidine is the generic name for Zantac (available over the counter in 75mg). Aciphex is a different medication, the generic name is Rabeprazole Sodium. I have not heard of this drug being available over the counter yet, as it is a relatively new drug, approved by the FDA in August of 1999. | ||

| Ihave been taking aciphex 20mg. and find that it is not working for me. I was taking Prevacid and felt no discomfort at all. The reason I had to make the change is because of my secondary insurance provider suggested that I go to a less expensive medication, for they didn't want to pay the high cost. I've been taking aciphex for 6 months now and am starting to have the same symptoms before taking the prevacid. | ||

| ratadine is the generic version of Zantac. If you have major heart burn or GERD it probably will not work well for you. I was taking 250 mg of Zantac a day and it would only last about 6 hours. | ||

| I took 300 mg/day of Zantac for several years with no problems. I take Aciphex now, which works much better. | ||
