I'm taking lexapro and it was workig great. I just had a sinus infection and took Avelox. The Lexapro seemed to be completely usless with the avelox. The depression would come back on me each time I took it. I didn't sleep with this medicine. Now I'm finished with the Avelox-- my Lexapro is working again, but I have serious waves of chest and throat pain. When I swallow it hurts like I'm swallowing sharp boulders. The pain starts in my throat and radiates all down my chest. very scary. I have good blood pressure. I would never take this again and I suggest asking for something less risky for anyone with a sinus problem. PS: I know the symptoms are not anxiety related because when it first happened i took an anxiety prescription that I use as needed(Klonopin) and it didn't help. With the Lexapro I had been able to do without the Klonopin for months. I don't know how long this will last, but I hesitate going back to the doctor that prescribed it. They depend to much on the drug salesperson's suggestions rather than actual research |

| Hi Debbie- I was taking Celexa (very similar to Lexapro) when I had a severe reaction to the AVelox 6 months ago. I'm not sure if this helps but hopefully if there is a connection, MEDWATCH will catch it. |

| I take Lexapro and Avelox. I began taking Avelox for a very bad sinus infection. I like the drug, although my tongue has swollen up a bit. Avelox is great, it's clearing up my infection and it has no affect on Lexapro |

| My Dr gave me avelox 400mg for a sinus infection and bronchitis, and within 24 hrs i felt a lot better! Only side effect was that my face especially my cheeks were hot and flushed! so what I rather put up with hot flushed cheeks than the sinutis and painful ears! some times you have to give a little to get some! now i can hear just fine. I just have hard time beleiving all the side effects people mentioned! I guess I am lucky to be able to benefit from avalox! just keep in mind all medications have side effects! take it from a nurse! |
