I took Celebrex for a couple of months about two years ago for bursitis in my hips. It started helping after about two weeks and finally got much better. I have also taken it more recently for a heel spur. Again, it took a few days, but finally got much better. There are two downsides however to Celebrex. One, I have a tendency to swell and it really makes my feet swell. The other is that after taking it for a few weeks, it starts to hurt my stomach. I've learned to always take it with lots, lots, lots of food. Never on an empty stomach and at the first sign of a stomach pain, I stop taking it for a few days. It's pretty effective, you just have to be very, very careful about getting stomach problems. Much better than Viox which made me swell terribly. Just could not deal with the amount of swelling it caused. Haven't tried bextra.
