| Took first dose 1mg in doctor's office at beginning stage of migraine. Within four hours complete relief. No ill effects like the jaw tightness and hangover from Imitrex. Would definitely recommend. | |||

| Amerge has let me "amerge" from the pain and debillitating migraines that I experience. Sometimes if I take it too late, it does not work as well but when it works I feel wounderful. | |||

| Doctor gave me 3 samples, after experiencing the neck pain I found with Imitrex or Zomig, I only took 1/2 with my migraine. I found no neck pain or stiff neck after 1/2 hour so I took the rest of it. The headache was gone and then returned later on. I am trying to find complete relief after more than 6 months of daily migraine. At the price of the medication after my insurance kicked in, I get 9 pills for $48. I am wondering how long before the daily migraines will stop? Are there other meds to help? I am taking 1 per day for 5 days now and headache still coming each day, although today, Sunday, August 10, did not wake with headache and didn't come until around 1:00 pm. It does take away the headache but I am not sure it is a permanent solution for me. | |||

| When taken upon first signs of symptoms of migraine onset I can usually stop it completely or from getting worse by taking an Amerge. It has mild side effects, if any, compared to Imitrex: definetly no chest tightening or difficulty breathing and doesn't interfere with my daily tasks. | |||

| The fact that Amerge does or does not work is not an issue with us. Since Amerge is not covered by my insurance (at $560.00 for a 30-day supply, I wouldn't cover it either), we'll just stick with Midrin. $560.00 for 30-day supply Ñ at a discount pharmacy. How ridiculous! Even in the USA (free enterprise, etc.), I cannot believe these pricing schedules are not more regulated. |

| I have been using Amerge now for about a year. I have tried many other medications for my migrains that did not work. I truely beleive that Amerge has saved my life. I was to the point of thinking that death would be better then the pain of a migrain when my doctor introdued me to Amerge. Yes this medication does cost a lot of monies and I can not always afford my medication because of it but it truely helps me when I need it. Signed, A mother of 7 children who knows what a blessing this medication can truely be |

| I have taken Amerge for about 3 years. It is the only medication that takes away my migrain. It is a life saver. I have taken Imitrex. I still do an injection on the rare occasion it's too late to take the Amerge. Meaning if I wait too long to take Amerge it would not help. The migrains I get are severe. Who's aren't right? I tried the new drug Prova. It is suppose to be a longer release drug. It did not work for me. It took too long to work. I want to know where we can get Amerge cheaper!!! Mine are $182.00 for 9 tablets. Does this mail order thing from Canada really save money? HELP! | |||

| I am on a MAOI drug 'nardil'. My doctor gave me Amerge to take but I am terribly worried that this drug will interact with the Nardil that I am on. Any comments? | |||

| If you can afford it or if your prescription drug plan covers it, use Amerge for your migraines. I've had classic migraines with aura since age 13 (now age 40), and in the past I had to go to the ER for big narcotics to get relief. Amerge has stopped all that. It works. | |||

| I suffer from Menstrual Migraines. Amerge has been wonderful for me! When my doctor gave me a sample, I was skeptical about trying it. Nothing else had worked to alleviate the pain I felt pretty much every month. However, it worked! Once I feel a migraine coming, I take Amerge and it subsides within 2 to 4 hours. Relief never felt so good. | |||

| i have not used Amerge yet, but was wondering if there are any side affects of taking it when you think you are getting a migraine, but then it ends up being a normal headache? | |||

| I tried Amerge today after a headache that was going on 3 hours. I don't believe my headaches are classical migraines, but when I get 1 of these I know they will last well into the night. Was unsure at first if I should try the sample my Dr. gave me month's ago, but was tired of the pain. I took one 2.5 tab along with a analgesic and layed down with a cold pack on my head. Woke up 2 hours later and the headache was gone. Would definetly try again. | |||

| I'm very fortunate that my insurance pays all but $10.00 for 30 tablets of amerge. I can't believe how much better I feel now that my headache is gone and I can control it if it comes back! Great pill and I'm not big on taking pills! | |||

| Beware of this drug. After taking one amerge pill perscribed my my doctor, I experienced a heart attack. I had no cardiac problems previously, as a 40 yr old male, that does not drink, smoke and is in shape and no other risk factors. The tripan manufacturers are trying to push this drug and minimize the serious risks as well as some doctors. My doctor told me about none of the risks of this drug. | |||

| Jane | Cluster Headache relief | May 12th, 2008 | Rating: Not Rated |
| I am a nurse who has suffered with Cluster headaches for years - about 5 years ago a doctor suggested I try Amerge since Imitrex wasn't helping. Amerge has made my life so much more productive and my quality of life has much improved. I take 2 Amerge as soon as I wake up at 2 or 3 AM and by morning I can function as a real human being. Years previous these pounding behind one eye headaches would ruin at least 3 days of my life - I worked anyway knowing that nothing helped - but I didn't function very well. Amerge has allowed me to get back into life right away - once in awhile I have to repeat the dose during an episode - no matter the cost Amerge is worth the relief I experience. I believe it is worth a try for other "Cluster headache" sufferes to try! | |||

| Even though it has already been said, Amerge -- more so than any of the other migraine medications I have tried -- is extremely effective. It is also the only migraine medication I have tried that doesn't cause the neck/throat pain and jaw soreness. Because of the steep price, I only take it for the worst migraines, but it has never failed me. | |||

| I have been taking Amerge for about 2 years. I could not survive without it. It is very expensive but worth every dime. Luckily my doctor started me out on this medication. It really works... | |||

| I used to lose a day of my life due to migraine-unable to function-I tried Imitrex-that just put me to sleep & when I awoke the migraine was still there. I was given Maxalt-that did nothing. Then a neurologist gave me Amerge. If I take it right away, in about an hour the migraine is completely gone and I can go on with my day. Sometimes I wait to see if I can do without it(I don't like to take drugs) but the Amerge still works in about an hour's time. The only ill effect is feeling more tired later on-but I can go to work and function and not feel like I just want someone to shoot me and put me out of misery! I have been taking it for years and my only concern, the reason I'm checking out this website, is are there any long term side effects? As far as price goes-when I have a migraine-the way I used to feel before Amerge-I would gladly hand someone 3o dollars or more if they told me they could get rid of that pain-and that is what Amerge does for me-and so I agree it is a lot-but I wouldn't live without it! To answer the person above who wonders if their headache is a true migraine, since mine never get to the really bad stage anymore, I have asked my doctor the same question, and she said if it works it was a migraine. It sure works! | |||

| I had suffered from migrane headeaches since i was in sixth grade. Every time i had an attack it was different than the one before. When I first got married it subsided somewhat and symptoms changed. I could never take anything for it as i either throw it up or it did not help me at all. One day talking to my ginecologyst about the migrane he prescribed amerge and the first time i took it i got rid of the migrane withing 20 minutes of having take it. For me, there are little miracles in life and amerge is one of them. Nevertheless, my sister suffers from the same migranes and not wanting to see her suffer i gave her one to see if it would help her, but to my surprise it didn't. Well life can't be perfect. I just wish it was not so expensive. |

| Sonia | amerge, a little miracle pill | May 12th, 2008 | Rating: Not Rated |
| I have had migranes since i was a little kid. It started with an aura and then developed a whole of symptoms including distorted vision, numbness on any body part, vomiting until exhaustion and then the splitting migrane headed that would not get relief with any over the counter medication. Through the years some of the symptoms when i get the migrane have subsided, but i still get the headache with nausea and the is no medication that would relief it unless is Amerge. I have taken Imitrex and it makes me feel worse. Amerge is the only thing that works for me. Even when I have taken it when the headache is most intense in about 2 to three hours the headache is completely gone!! I call it a little miracle. Thank God and whoever made this medicatio. I can only wish it was not so expensive, I can only buy one or two at a time. At any rate, I am thankfull it is here and it really works!!!!! | |||
| Jo | Amerge works for me! | May 12th, 2008 | Rating: Not Rated |
| I have been taking Amerge for a couple of years. I'm 37 and have been having migraines since I was a teenager. I have tried multiple migraine medications that did not work but the Amerge works for me without any side effects. I am limited to 8 pills per month and my share of the cost is $33.00 which is well worth it. My only problem is that every month when it is time to refill the medication, it is such a hassle between the pharmacy, my dr's office and the insurance company to get this medication refilled. My doctor is wonderful and has no problems processing the paperwork but he is tired of dealing with this every month just as much as I am. Another problem I have is that I usually need more than 8 pills a month. I get 1-2 migraines a month that come out of the blue. I always get menstrual migaines every month that start 1-2 days before the actual period and last through a 7 day cycle, sometimes needing to take 2 in a 24 hour period (I take the 2.5 mg strength Amerge). My doctor gives me samples when he has them available. If I don't have access to Amerge, it doesn't matter what else I take, I end up in the ER for a shot. Occasionally, even with Amerge I end up in the ER for a shot but that is usually because I took the medication too late (with only 8 a month, I have to try to stretch it out). Thankfully, I haven't had to go to the hospital in 8 months! Amerge really works for me when I can take it right when I'm getting a migraine. Even if it has long term side effects, I'd rather live a quality life now than a longer life with more pain. | |||
| Ann | Amerge rare side effect | May 12th, 2008 | Rating: Not Rated |
| I took Amerge for the first time for a severe migraine and within 5 hours suffered the rare side effect of horrible abdominal pains! I called my doctor and said they had never seen such a severe reaction, they told me to take a pain reliver, but not advil or mortrin. Seven hours later, I still have them but not as severe. I'll take the migraine over these abdominal pains, so no more Amerge for me. |

| I am 36 year old and i have been having classic migraines for past one year and my doctor prescribed Amerge. I have had migraine twice since and i took Amerge, My headache goes away but i have ringing in the ears.... especially in the night when i lay down. This is new and started about the same time when i started taking Amerge. I have decided not to take Amerge when i get a migraine next time and see if it stops ringing in my ears. | |||
