About Atacand and Atacand HCT
Atacand is used either alone or in combination with other drugs to treat:
- high blood pressure.
- heart failure. In heart failure patients, Atacand reduces heart-related death and hospitalizations due to heart failure complications.
Precautions for Atacand and Atacand HCT
Do not take Atacand when you are pregnant. If you find out you are pregnant while taking Atacand you should call your healthcare provider and stop taking Atacand as soon as possible. During the second and third trimester of pregnancy there have been reports of harm and even death to the fetus.
