I was diagnosed with recurrent endometrial cancer in Jan. 2007. I am now in a clinical study using faslodex as a treatment option. I started having alot of nausea soon after starting faslodex and the week of my injection, both of my hip joints are very painful. I also have developed fatique and an all over sadness. I think the sadness is from that this is a Phase II study and not too many patients are involved, so I feel alone. Any info helps. My cancer has not grown or shrunk in 7 months.

Faslodex is the only treatment I've had for the past 4.5 months.(I did start it 8 months ago in conjunction with chemo) This is a long time for me to be stable (in terms of tumor markers and general health). Taking Faslodex has been incident free. What I have had alot of is discomfort with pain in my legs especially below the knees. My joints aren't feeling great either. Whether or not this is a side effect of Faslodex or some cancer activity I'm not sure but the joint pain began at the time of Faslodex use.

I too am experiencing the same symptoms as the party above, i too feel like i will die, my physician doesn`t even listen to me, but i am in the process of changing doctors, the way i have felt & feel at the moment i don`t even think theirs hope, the loss of appetite & nausea is terrible, however i havn`t lost any weight. What are the alternatives?

faslodex side effects

I was so sick while taking faslodex.I experienced severe bone pain, loss of appetite, nausea, couldn't sleep day or night, lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks, i was down on my back for several weeks couldn't drive so a family member had to take me to the doctors, diarrhea, fever, weakness and numbness. i was so sick i really thought i was going to die and my family was very worried about me. i have never been so sick in my life. you really need to send this faslodex back to clinical trials and rework it before you kill some one with it. i am still recovering and trying to get my strength back and don't know how long that is going to be. i will not recommend faslodex to anyone.

I have been on Faslodex for 4 months now and my markers have increased every month and are now at 488. I have suffered from alot of anxiety and depression since being on the medication and am not going to take it anymore since it does not seem to be doing anything positve. I feel fine otherwise and have no signs of cancer anywhere in my body.

I have just read the two reports of other women taking Faslodex. I was very surprised to hear the reactions they both had to this drug. I went on Faslodex in April 2003 and have now had 6 injections, and up to now, I have not had one side effect from the drug. I find this forum very interesting, and would like to hear from any other patients that have had the same successes as myself regarding side effects. I had a bone scan at the 4th month, and the results were "no increased activity". I couldn't want for more, and I for one am very thankful that Faslodex is available for me.

Thank you

I have been on Faslodex injections for a year. I noticed anxiety and depression as soon as I started it. Those feelings get a little better after the first week or so following the injection, but then, I have to have another one after four weeks. I've also noticed a little nausea.

I have been on faslodex for 5 months. The changes I noticed were my fingernails are stronger than they ever were, and I have had back pain for about the past two months. The first two months I gained about 7 pounds, but it all came off in the past month.

The injections hurt and the soreness stays for a few days.

I have a scan next month to see if it is working.

Just wondering what is the usual time to be on Faslodex? Until disease progression?

My mother has been taking Faslodex, and her side effects are similar to Lenore's. Within a few months she went from being a vibrant person to not being able to walk. At first the doctor refused to believe it could be the Faslodex, but after showing up in a wheelchair, the nurse acknowledged that loss a limbs can be a side effect! We are still trying to figure out exactly what is wrong, but it very well may be the Faslodex. I would urge extreme caution if your doctor is considering Faslodex, and make sure he/she is well aware of the side effects.

I've been taking a combination Aredia and Faslodex since the end of January 2003. I've experienced some of the side effects listed slightly but I can't blame it on Faslodex as I experienced them before taking Faslodex. Who doesn't have back pain, depression, or anxiety in their life. Any side effect I experienced on the list was very mild. I have found that exercise relieves the pain. At any rate, between the Areadia and Faslodex my markers have decreased from 56 when I started the regiment to 32 on my last visit to my physician. The only time I've had discomfort at the site of injection is when the RN suprises me. Now we inject on the count of 3 and I don't get a bruise or a burning sensation.

Since taking Faslodex, I have been having liver problems that my physician refuses to acknowledge. How common is this. What are the alternatives?
