Dramamine to reduce withdrawal brain spurts & Vertigo

I had a very tough time comming off Celexa just like the people here described, I suffered brain spurts and experienced a bout of severe Vertigo. I never had Vertigo before and it scared me and made me nausious for days.

I called the advice nurse (Kaiser) right away when I experienced Virtago and she recommended Dramamine, the OTC travel sickness drug. I took a pill a day for a week and I have experienced no more brain spurts and I am off the drug now!

Hope this helps for some, I am done with this drug forever.

Robert

Hi, Robert,

You give me such hope! I am trying for the second time to come off Celexa. I washed off the med over a period of 7 weeks, and have been completely off since. Jan 15th. I am definitely experiencing some side effects and have considered starting to take celexa again, which does not make me happy. I am so glad to read that someone got through the side effects and came out the "other side." :) I can't wait to feel better.

Getting Off Celexa Is A Nightmare!!!!!

I have been on 20 mg of celexa since 1997 and had to come off in 2007, because I became pregnant. What I experienced was scary. I felt vertigo, brain spurts, sakes, cold, fatigue, just everything you can think of. It lasted for three months I thought I was going to go out of mind. I went back on six months ago and would like to come off, but I am deadly afraid of going through the same thing. I will stop for four days and than I start feeling the same way and than I go back on. I am going to try 10 mg for seven days than 1/4 of that for seven days along with dramamine. I hope this works!!!!!!
