Default About rosacea and Elidel

Hi, I have the same question as you. I have rosacea and very dry red skin covering most of both cheeks. I also have eczema so my doctor is trying this to see if it helps both. I sure hope so. Nothing has reduced the redness except steroid creams and those make the rosacea come back with a vengance.

Default Elidel

Hi Roberto,
My dermatologist prescribed Elidel for the burning, itching outbreaks that are sometimes associated with rosacea. For me that often occurs on the nose and cheeks. It has worked wonders for me. I often put it on at night and use Rosasol cream (Metronidazole) during the day because I know Elidel should not be used when the face is exposed to sunlight. Using Elidel has given me renewed confidence in my appearance. It has changed my life for the better.

I talked to my dermatologist about cancer risks, since Elidel, as an immunodepressor theoretically counteracts your body's natural defenses against cancer. He said to apply it only when the itching redness occurs. It has been used by millions of people. If there really is a link between Elidel and cancer, it won't be known for at least a decade. This drug is so new and so unlike treatments that have come before. Cheers.

Stu
