Default lumigan

I was taking Lumigan for two years for occular hypertension. I was advised that my eyelashes would grow, my eyelids turn brown, and my eyes might darken. These symptoms I could put up with. I was not advised of any systemic side effects. However, I subsequently suffered a tight chest, breathlessness, pounding heart, extreme fatique and weakness, depression, anxiety, regular hot flushes(different from menopausal)very dry skin. Because I had polio as a child I mistakenly put the symptoms down to post polio syndrome. I finally was referred to a polio specialist who told me those symptoms were not consistent with PPS. As the only medication I was on was the Lumigan I began to suspect it. I went to the eye clinic and was told to come off the Lumigan immediately. All the systemic symptoms disappeared. I've been off any drops for a month and am a different person. I can't tell you how angry I am that two years of my life have been virtually wiped out. In the end I was practically an invalid.
