Default Home infusion

Hi Lillie,
I wanted to respond re: Homecare use. Routinely in the past it has not been prescribed for outside the hospital for homecare patients. But, in last alternative cases it seems to be considered as a last ditch effort to help a pt. I am currently awaiting a very sick patient to come home on this medication once his dose is stabilized at the hospital.
Routinely, this medication isn't given more than 72 hrs.,
When and if he makes it home, he will be on a continuous infusion of natrecor, unfortunately, it will not prolong his life but make it a somewhat better existence so that he can be with his family outside of the hospital. Basically, on this instance, we are going to follow him for this infusion, but not much adjustments or improvements are expected, and pt will likely die w/in the next couple months.
Feel free to email me with any questions that I may help you with. Best of luck in your endeavors..
Kelli RN BSN
