Default women only?

I know of a male using this med not for irritable bowel but for another problem and would like to know why it is not recommended for men and why it is advertised on television "for women only". This sounds like false advertising when presented this way yet it is being prescribed for men. Please give me more information. Thank you.

If you read into the test studies of the drug, you will find that the studies didn't include enough men to conclude it's safety for men.
In conclusion, I believe it is not approved for men.
From, Another IBS Sufferer...

I just started on it today... I'm a 31 male. My doctor said the same thing as the previous comment; the bowel problems (bloating and constipation) occur more frequently with women than men and therefore they concentrated their efforts on getting accepted first for women. I mainly have the cramping and bloating and am anxious to see what happens with it.
