Default pancreatic cancer

My dad was diagnosed with bile duct obstruction and pancreatic cancer stage IV in June 2002. He was started on Gemzar IV and Xeloda orally. He has done well on this combination; he has had more problems with bile duct stents than with chemo side effects. He has good quality of life except for overall decrease in energy. Actually now that he has slowed down from his previously full time schedule as owner and manager of a hardware business for 56 years he notices a little arthritis. He celebrated his 78th birthday March 2003 and is looking forward to the birth of his first great grandchild in November.

His CT scan shows tumor suppression; and the tumor markers are down.
I am thankful for the oncologist who offered us the option to participate in this research study. If you have questions please email me.
